Publisher Description: Based on a true story, it's a fun look at how a family's Easter tradition of coloring eggs can take a sudden turn when the baby of the family, Addie, thinks the blue dye pellet looks a lot like candy. For a time, no one notices that she has popped it into her mouth. But when Addie realizes the pellet actually tastes awful, she tries to spit it out. Sticking out her tongue, which is now dark blue, she releases a wave of blue drool flowing down her chin and onto her shirt. This shocking sight throws her family into brief hysterics as they quickly try to resolve this Easter dilemma. Once order is restored, they return to coloring eggs and only one question remains: how will they color eggs blue now that the blue pellet is all used up? That's where the author stretches the truth a bit, but adds lots more fun in the process. The illustrations are warm and expressive adding sweet emotion to this unique tale. |
