In between those extremes, once upon a time, he worked at major children's book publisher where he was a business and legal affairs executive. During the publishing company's final struggle to survive, as it laid-off people in waves, employees gathered for wakes at a nearby bar. At one such wake, as he contemplated a name for his prospective venture, an inebriated editor responded to another with the remark, "Nothing Is Golden," and the rest, as they say is history |
