Publisher Description:
Mario is not the patient victim, who contemplates unmoved the arrival of the enemy, he is not the coward who is paralyzed before the darkness which fills the valley. The green of the trees stirs him, the smell of powder wakes him up, he is not the man used to remain silent before injustice. His humanity gets the best of him and he is forced to show up and act. It is the act of thinking, the act of he who disagrees, who takes shelter in words as a way of salvation and as a luxury act, because to keep being independent is such an act and only a few accomplish it. I celebrate this text. I hope the readers, besides feeling the challenge of finding out who the heroes and the rotters are, can also feel and partake of the delight which is to know that it always healthy to fight the battles, that it is always comforting to raise one's voice, even if no one answers, even if one believes all is wasteland, loss, and lost time the struggle against what is unjust. There is something beautiful in consistency. Poetry and the word know it. And this book of Mario's is an example. The reader of this book who so wishes it, will be able to indentify one, several or maybe all the characters who were the source of inspiration for the poems found in the section "You name it", and they can also give their opinion in a number of words not exceeding ten, in each case. In order to do this the person interested should contact us at mm@mariomendez.com. Your comment would appear in the second edition of this book. Other comments about this work, made through the same means, will also be welcome. We will be very grateful if all those who wish to participate leave their names and address.
