He is the son and grandson of Presbyterian ministers; two were overseas missionaries. Roy is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and past CPA, CMA and CISA. He remains a member of the AICPA where he earned the CGMA and PFS designations. In the mid-1990s, he taught MBA candidates in China at the invitation of China's Ministry of Education.
