Professionally trained as an architect in Ottawa, Canada, he has lived and worked in Toronto, Boston and New York City. He has always held a fascination for early history and especially early fortifications of North America. He grew up intrigued by the geometries of British forts in his native province of Ontario, visiting these historic sites whenever possible.
