Publisher Description:
AMERICA IN THE MIDDLE EAST is a collection of 43 articles on the US transition from imperialism to globalization, from Liberal Democracy to Neoliberalism, from an exporter of capital to 4 trillion dollars Foreign Direct Investment. In the discussion of electronic commerce, digital currency, bitcoin, blockchain, the book gives the road-map to the future of the capitalism. There are 3 chapters on the Soviet collapse and the 21st century China economy. The sanctions and tariffs are looked at as non-military attack against other countries. The structural crisis is correlated to financialization of the economy. The second half of the book reviews the Middle East with respect to the US presence. It uses Nash Games Equilibrium Theory on the 2015 Nuclear JCPOA between the stakeholders. The wars in the Middle East, the rise of Islamic fundamentalists, use of drones, refugee waves into neighboring countries and the West. There is a comparison between Afghan and Iran 20th century histories. Dr. Baran was born in Tehran, Iran; traveled extensively throughout the ancient plateau, all European countries, some North African cities, and most US states. Museums, cities, and natural spots were his favorite stops. He noticed similarities in the vegetation around the world. In climbing Tuchal heights in Northern Tehran on weekends, once he found a calcite fossil of a fish the size of a palm; later, in the West, he read about the contiguity of the continents under the super-continent Pangaea and the single Sarmatic Sea which covered Caspian, Azov, Aral and Black Seas as the remnants of the evaporated basin. Web search is his choice of accessing the human knowledge around the globe and throughout the history. He has a PhD, MS, and BS in Electrical Engineering and an MS in Nuclear Engineering all from University of Missouri, Columbia.
