Contributor Bio(s): Gambin, Timmy: - Timmy Gambin obtained his BA from the Department of History at the University of Malta and went on to read for his M.A. in Maritime Archaeology and PhD in Archaeology at the University of Bristol under the tutelage of Dr A.J. Parker at the University of Bristol. He is currently a senior lecturer at the Department of Classics and Archaeology, University of Malta and Director of Archaeology of the AURORA Special Purpose Trust. He has participated and directed numerous exploration surveys in Malta and elsewhere in the Mediterranean contributing to the discovery of numerous shipwrecks which vary in date from 800 BC to the last world war.Trakadas, Athena: - Athena Trakadas is a curator at the Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde, Denmark, and co-editor of the Journal of Maritime Archaeology. She is a commercial diver and holds BAs in Classics and Anthropology, a MA in Nautical Archaeology, a Cand.Mag. in Roman Archaeology, and a PhD in maritime archaeology. |
