Created by an experienced social worker as a tool to aid families dealing with physical abuse and as a deterrent for others. This beautiful picture book for young and first readers is a perfect way to share the message that "Kind Hands Don't Hurt", and will instil reassurance to a child who has experienced "unkind hands". This book can also be used as an interactive session on all the wonderful things your kind hands can do.

Contributor Bio(s): Badu, Maureen: - From the heart of West London, Maureen Badu was raised in a single parent household. As a child it had been instilled studying and academic achievement was a priority, despite having dreams of being an actress and taking the stage by storm. Although this aspiration to act was short lived, she still had a very creative edge and vivid imagination that needed to be channeled. Maureen would seek satisfaction in writing from a very young age but did not see it as more than a hobby at this time. In 2004 Maureen became a Business Management graduate and worked for several years in the world of Business making quite a mark. Despite many successes she did not feel fulfilled in these corporate roles and subsequently left the industry in 2005 to embark on a journey of helping others to achieve their potentials. Now in love with her new focus and determination to spread her reach of support, Maureen furthered her studies in Psychology in 2009 before stepping into the world of social care for children and families. She started writing and delivering programs to help disaffected children, but still felt there was more she could do to have a greater impact to empower families and change the way young people were perceived. Taking things to the next level, Maureen returned to studying and has recently qualified as a Social Worker. During her time of completing her Masters, she wrote her first children's book, 'Kind hands don't hurt', and is currently setting up a business to enable children and families reach their true potential and maintain positive relationships. She intends to continue writing alongside her new career and will be releasing more books in the future. One wish Maureen Badu endeavours to do in both careers is to keep families smiling through her support or the enjoyment of her stories. Social Worker, Author, Business Woman and Blogger; through multiple avenues Maureen Badu is set to be game changer using her creativity and platform to make a difference.
