Publisher Description:
My Fluffy Hair (which is also available in Norwegian) is a part of a series of inclusive books focused on recognizing differences and cultivating curiosity in children aged 3-7. The purpose of the books are to give children a voice so that they can celebrate their differences and embrace what is unique about each of them together and as an individual. In addition, the book can be used in preventative work and strategy against bullying among school aged children. We are a newly established voluntary organization based in Norway. The name of the organization is Authentigration (Authentic + Integration), which is a global movement to help migrants and their families thrive wherever they are in the world or wherever they choose to travel. The concept was born in Scandinavia. Authentigration aims to provide today's world citizens (migrants and their families) with the tools and advice they need to embrace their new lives and remain the authentic self. All of the content we produce is designed to help the world see the beauty of diversity and the power of inclusion and equality. One of the tools we are working on today is to write inclusive books where the focus is to present a new narrative for children, about our differences. To show that being different is what makes us unique, but that is what is normal in our society. Our first book, My Fluffy Hair (which is basically an English written book and translated into Norwegian) will be part of a book series of inclusive books focused on recognizing differences and cultivating curiosity in children aged 3-7. The purpose of the books is to give children a voice so that they can celebrate their differences and embrace what is unique about each of them together and alone. In addition, we can see that the book can be used, among other things, in preventative work and strategy against bullying from kindergarten and preschool age and libraries are also a natural customer.
