Kafka portrays a picture of one that sacrifices his life for his family but the moment he is no longer productive, they turn against him. Gregor s sister Grete is seen to care for his brother initially by giving him rotten food to eat and to clean after him, but after a while, she tired of it.

Gregor s father is a heartless dad who assumes the worst from him always. As Gregor struggles with accepting his new reality, his great concern is how the family will survive financially and more so the distress his hideous look is causing them.

In Metamorphosis, Kafka gives details of how:

Author s Biography

Franz Kafka was a fiction writer of the 20th century. He was born in the Czech Republic to a middle class German-speaking Jewish family. His work was unpopular before his death. It is posthumously that his work was published after being overseen by his friend Max Brod. It attracted attention and recognition.
