Alistair MacLean (1922-1987) was born in Glasgow. A former torpedo man in the Royal Navy and teacher, he published his first adventure novel, HMS Ulysses, a bestseller, at age thirty-three. The Guns of Navarone is his most renowned title and was made into a film. He also published two novels under the pseudonym Ian Stuart.

Oliver, Jonathan: -

Jonathan Oliver has preformed in theaters across England, including War and Peace at the Royal National Theatre, The Homecoming at Leicester Haymarket, and the role of Antony in Antony and Cleopatra at the Bridwell. His television credits include Eskimo Day, House of Eliott, and Hannay, and he is active in voice-over and radio.
