This book - built around a case study of Latin American immigrants in Europe - develops these ideas further by examining the ways in which the context of host countries influences the circulation of care between adult members of transnational families and their aging parents. It shows how transnational family networks are shaped by their position within the migration, welfare, gendered care and labor market regimes of their home and host societies, and by access to banking, transport and communication technologies. |
