Publisher Description:
Educators must give students the opportunity to practice and experience the "new tools" of technology and the internet.
Instrumental music teachers have a wonderful opportunity to give students experiences that not only further music education, but also broaden learning of the total edification of the student. I cannot over state the importance of all teachers use the technology and internet to not only advance their own courses and disciplines, but they must also create opportunities of using these tools to give the student real life-long tools to function in today's global economy. This brings back to my original belief that since the world is flat again Americans must labor toward keeping our place as the leaders or innovators in this ever changing world economy. Carrying this belief further, our total educational commitment and push must be en route toward giving our children the tools and strategies that will ensure that they are able to "learn how to learn."
In this spirit, my focus in this book is to introduce models that will enhance student learning so that instrumental music teachers can contribute to educational commitment that I cited earlier. These models have been created to give students the experiences they need to have a superb background in using the internet. In addition, these models will produce learning activities that are meaningful and build the "independent power" necessary to produce students that are capable to "learn how to learn."
