Publisher Description: Once a part of Rancho Los Coyotes, Buena Park is today home to 80,000 people within its 10 square miles. In 1887, a Chicago grocer, who purchased land for a cattle ranch, was persuaded by the Santa Fe Railroad to found a town instead. But it was the Southern Pacific Railroad that made Buena Park an agricultural railhead. The Lily Creamery was built in 1889, marking the town s first industry. Today Buena Park, a city of residential, commercial, and industrial development, is famous for tourist attractions such as Medieval Times, Movieland Wax Museum, and Knott s Berry Farm." |
