Contributor Bio(s): DeMaria, Robert: - Robert DeMaria received his PhD in Modern British Literature at Columbia University. He has directed writing programs in several universities and was an editor at Macmillan. The bulk of his creative work consists of his 20 novels, but he has also published poetry, an off-Broadway play, and a libretto for an opera. For several years he was the academic dean of the New School for Social Research. He was also the director of an overseas program for American students and writers in residence. His work has been highly praised in publications such as THE LONDON TIMES, THE NEW YORK TIMES, THE BOSTON GLOBE, THE WASHINGTON POST, and many literary magazines. He and his family now divide their time between Long Island and a house in Mallorca, Spain. His latest novel is BLEECKER STREET BLUES, set in Greenwich Village.
