Publisher Description:
This is Christopher Milne's first autobiography, which was followed by Part 2--The Path through the Trees. From his much publicized childhood on Cotchford Farm to his war experiences, his marriage, and his proprietorship of a successful bookshop in a small English town, the life of the famous author's son was one of much joy and some pain. It was also one of deep introspection. This book illuminates the shy, quiet man who was a thoughtful observer of the natural world and a gentle commentator on humankind's relationship to it. Christopher's writing offers an intriguing portrait of a gifted man who chose to live simply, a choice that ultimately brought him satisfaction--more than could ever come from the empty fame of being the "real" Christopher Robin.

Contributor Bio(s): Milne, Christopher: -

Christopher Milne was the world-famous son of A. A. Milne, the creator of Winnie-the-Pooh. He was also the basis for the character Christopher Robin in the Pooh stories.

Dennis, Peter: -

Actor Peter Dennis narrates the Pooh audiobooks. His intimate thirty-year association with the Pooh related works of A. A. Milne has resulted in numerous stage appearances and audio recordings, from a bicontinental tour of his one man show Bother! based on selections from the four Winnie-the-Pooh books to his comprehensive Blackstone Audio recordings. He was a graduate of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, played leading roles in London's West End and throughout the UK, and was a guest star on many television series in the United States, including Friends, Seinfeld, ER, and Star Trek: Voyager. A longtime friend of the Milne family, Peter passed away in spring of 2009. His last recording, The Path through the Trees, was a gift to Clare Milne, Christopher and Lesley's Milne's only child.
