Publisher Description:
Chorley, the beautiful market town in central Lancashire, has a wealth of history that dates back to the Bronze Age. The town today is filled with a rich heritage, evidenced by the patterned cobbles and crafted ironwork on its streets, along with the former mills and remnants of its industrial past. Grab a slice of Chorley cake and join author Jack Smith as he delves into the town's hidden history, letting readers in on all of the lesser-known tales from Chorley's past, including those related to its early history, its people and its buildings.

Contributor Bio(s): Smith, Jack: - Jack Smith has lived in Lancashire most of his life, his family roots being in the railway town of Horwich near Bolton, where he served an engineering apprenticeship at the famous Horwich Locomotive Works.
