Publisher Description:
Little Sandy was a Vaudeville child performer. She sang, danced, and personally knew famous entertainers. Now, as Big Sandy, she is grown-up and shares her love of life with neighborhood kids. She has remodeled an old theater to show movies and given Dianna a Saturday matinee movie pass for herself and ten of her friends. Dianna and Big Sandy spend time together, telling stories, playing piano, making popcorn and tap dancing in the kitchen. Dianna organizes Saturday outings with her friends. They save some of their concession candy and popcorn and, on their way home, drop it from a bridge to homeless children living by the railroad tracks. Now, she tells the story to her own grandchildren and invites them to think about stories from their own lives that they will want to tell. A teaching guide is included at the end.
