Publisher Description:
As time marches on, it brings change with it some drastic and some gradual. Find out how different aspects of life have changed through time, right up until today. What was school like for kids in the American pioneer days? What were the biggest impacts on transportation and communication through time? And what was on the supper plates of kids in the 1600s? Many opportunities to compare and contrast, historically accurate photos, timelines, and hands on activities make this set a surefire fit with Common Core State Standards. Meets social studies standards related to time, continuity and change.

Contributor Bio(s): Lee, Sally Ann: - Sally Lee is the author of numerous nonfiction books for readers from kindergarten through high school. Her interest in children's literature began at the University of Missouri where she received her degree in education. Her years of teaching gave her desire to help children learn. When she left the classroom to raise her own son and daughter, writing nonfiction became a way to continue educating children. Her favorite part of writing nonfiction is doing research. It reminds her of a treasure hunt, especially when it uncovers off-beat facts that nobody else knows. It also satisfies her own curiosity about the world. Sally and her husband live in Dallas, Texas, with their children and grandchildren nearby.Simons, Lisa M. Bolt: - Lisa M. Bolt Simons, a teacher by day, has published several nonfiction children's books, as well as articles in various publications. She's been awarded a Minnesota State Arts Board grant, a McKnight Artist Fellowship for Writers/Loft Award in Children's Literature Honorable Mention, and a Shabo Award from The Loft Literary Center. She lives in Minnesota with her husband and teen twins.
