Publisher Description:
Jon Ash doesn't like school or following rules so much. When he snaps in his history class and throws a desk against the chalk board, it's the last straw, or so he thinks. Mrs. Kramer, the school principal offers Jon one last chance to get his act together and actually graduate, but that opportunity means going into the school's alternative program. Not fully understanding alternative education, and having teased 'those' kids for years, Jon believes he's doomed and will finish his high school career making pot holders and taking the dumbed down classes, but he couldn't be further from reality. Follow Jon's adventures as he learns what alternative education actually is and who the students are that enter into such a program. As Jon begins to understand, he is confronted by his past, his misconceptions of the program, and a movement within the school system to close the program down. With a fire starter and thief terrorizing the school, time is running out to save the program and in a twist of fate, Jon becomes the program's last and best hope to keep it from being closed down. Can he do it though? Does he even want to?
