Dame Agatha Christie (1890-1976) was a British crime writer best known for her detective novels and short stories. According to Guinness World Records, she is the best-selling novelist of all time, her novels having sold over four billion copies and having been translated into more than one hundred languages. The Agatha Award for best mystery and crime writers was named in her honor.

Christopher Lee is the author and editor of over twenty books and has written more than fifty radio dramas for BBC Radio 4, including The House and Colvil and Soames. Lee was the first Quartercentary Fellow in Contemporary History at Emmanuel College, Cambridge. While holding this post he researched the historical origins of post-World War II foreign and military policy making.

Her television awards include the UK's BAFTA TV Award for Best Actress and the RTS Television Award. Her best-known film roles were as Helen in Peeping Tom, Babs in Alfred Hitchcock's Frenzy, and more recently in The Oxford Murders and The Machinist. She received critical praise from AudioFile magazine for her narrations, especially of Cold Comfort Farm by Stella Gibbons, Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier, and Wild Swans by Jung Chang.

David Suchet may be most familiar to listeners from his role as Inspector Poirot, originally on PBS TV's Mystery! and now on A&E. He has also appeared on Broadway in Amadeus, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (for which he won Best Actor, Critic's Circle Award), Oleanna (Best Actor, Royal Variety Club), and Timon of Athens (Best Actor, Evening Standard Award). He has numerous film and television credits to his name.
