Contributor Bio(s): Fox, Mazaradi: - Mazaradi Fox (1971-2014), born Jamal Green, was a rap star who grew up in South Jamaica, Queens. Like childhood friend 50 Cent, Fox was in the streets from an early age--a situation that led to numerous incarcerations. It was during an eight-year prison stint that Fox made the decision to focus on his music. Upon his release, 50 Cent brought him over to his label, G-Unit Records. In January 2014 Fox was killed when a gunman in a black ski mask opened fire on an SUV he was in on Farmers Boulevard in his native borough. Hite, Cary: -Cary Hite has performed in several theaters across the country as a cast member in the longest-running African American play in history, The Diary of Black Men. He also appeared in Edward II, Fences, Macbeth, Good Boys, Side Effects May Vary, and the indie feature The City Is Mine. He has voiced several projects for AudibleKids, including Souls Look Back in Wonder, From Slave Ship to Freedom Road, and Papa, Do You Love Me? Williams, Brittani: -Brittani Williams discovered her love of writing when she wrote a play as a high school assignment. Her hobby became a profession in 2005 when she completed her first manuscript. Her first book, Daddy's Little Girl, was released in 2007. Brittani has sold several hundred thousand books, has directed a stage play based on one of her novels, and is the lead graphic designer at her company TSPub Creative. |
