Publisher Description:
The Assassination attempt, detainment before trial, the police, investigation, the court. Michael's books have brought him to such a life. In 1973 Michael escaped from the USSR after a dangerous struggle with the authorities for the right to leave the country. The KGB state was left behind. The land of his ancestors was ahead and in his suitcase his first book "My Israel." But the new reality turned out to resemble the reality that had been left behind. Israel turned out to be a copy of the Soviet Union and the KGB. Michael writes a book "The Dunces" about the State of Israel. And then the book "Farewell, Israel... or The Last Utopia" about the inevitable collapse of such a State. In 2003, three days before the book was handed over to press, an attempt on Michael's life was made. But he came out of it alive. And immediately he writes the book "The Attempt" about this KGB State, and then the book "The Court Trial" - Michael's trial against this KGB State. The State brought opened a court trial against him with a false accusation. Parallel to the trial, Michael writes the book "With Closed Eyes, or Disobedience" about this trial. He demands to be led to the trial in handcuffs, otherwise he does not go, he refuses to defend himself and sits with his eyes closed. The law court acquitted him, but the General Prosecutor demanded a prison sentence of three years. This happened on 2006. From this moment the court has concealed its intentions, but will hang over Michael for many long years. This is how things are done in this country of lawlessness. As a result of the persecution, of the attempt and the trial, Michael remained alone, and his wife was seriously ill. One day he read on the internet about the State of Israel an essay, that is very close to his views. He wrote to the author about this. Nehama, the author of the essay, started to read Michael's books. And then she started to tell him her own terrible story: the struggle against the KGB for the right to leave the USSR, her arrival in Israel in the same year 1973, the horrors of persecution by the Israeli KGB and her forced escape from Israel to the USA. The torments of the persecuted Nehama are told against the background of the persecution against Michael. By his example, Michael had affirmed that this is a KGB State. Now there is a second example, Nehama's - this is not yet a confirmation, but a proof. The Israeli KGB continues to follow Michael, and this deteriorates his wife's health, Nehama is barely alive from what she has suffered at the hands of the KGB. The authors decide: as long as they are still alive they will interrupt their book before the coming Jewish New Year. Israeli publishers do not want to work with Michael. He publishes his books, several hundred copies, of the book and also has published in several hundred copies in Russian and Hebrew. Bookstore chains do not take his books for sale. The totalitarian system. This book is about life in two totalitarian twin States. The authors have never met.
