Publisher Description:
This book is the second My Thoughts Can Change The World Project: a traveling project with author and illustrator Rachel DiNunzio. In March of 2015, Rachel visited Forest Elementary School to kick-start the project. A message from Rachel: What we do and what we think impacts others. The My Thoughts Can Change The World project's goal is to make a positive impact for people, animals, plants, and our environment, through the sharing of thoughts and ideas. The Forest Elementary 4th Grade class was given this question: An idea, a thought, a hope, however big or small, can start a ripple. No matter if it is to help your family or neighborhood, school or community, nation or world: it starts with you. What will you do? What could we all do? This project was completely voluntary. Each student was given the opportunity to write and illustrate their idea. An amazing 68 students chose to contribute. Our collective goal is to create as many positive 'thought ripples' as possible through the sharing of these ideas. To do this, the students illustration may be featured as the SRP: Thought of the Day on the Studio RADish Press website, on the social media feeds, and through the spreading of this book. My personal goal is to empower each student, show that they matter and are important, and to demonstrate how positively aiming their thoughts can create a really big impact. Aside from the costs necessary to produce and print the books, any proceeds will go towards saving plants, animals, communities, and out precious rainforests through Cool Earth. The book itself becomes the ripple. Beginning with each student's thought, then combining these thoughts into a collaborative work, distributing the the final collection to family, friends, and members of the community, will ultimately lead to the donation of the funds raised from this project.
