Publisher Description:

Mirabell, the brave little fairy, lives with her mum in a grey village called Liath-Baile.

Liath-Baile is hidden from the rest of the world by a magical spell because the village citizens fear colours. But Mirabell has a streak of red in her hair; and she wishes to discover why her village never speaks of colours.

One night after her mum brings her to bed, Mirabell decides to leave everything she knows and loves in pursuit of colours -- in pursuit of her truth.

Her adventure leads her to the "other world", to the Place of Colours known as Áit na Dathanna.

During Mirabell's quest, she befriends Miraculli the Crow, the Wise Old Stone, Simon the Snail and several other characters who all help her discover along the way what it is inside of her that wishes to come alive and express itself.

From enchanted forests and beautiful crystals of a thousand brilliant colours to the River of Tears that helps protect Liath-Baile, Mirabell returns home with her discovery -- her transformation -- to share what she has learned with all her kin.
