Publisher Description:
A thought provoking book containing "editorials" written from 1999-2004 regarding observations, questions, and information about the church. These editorials were written as I thought about issues facing the church...not so much from the perspective of "pointing a finger" at what the church was or was not doing, but more to get people thinking about what was or wasn't happening in the church. Writing these editorials helped me think through the direction, missionally and programmatically, the church was headed. What's fascinating is that the issues written about 13 to 18 years ago are still issues today...could that mean we haven't really dealt with the issues or have we just decided we can't do anything about them or have they been resolved? There is a bit of irony...a bit of humor...some questions to ponder...some good resources...some good ideas. The book was not written to "get" agreement on the multiple items identified, but rather to create discussion and action. It's about "mapping" the future of the church around the turn of the century and now, well beyond...actually, it's still about "mapping" the mission and ministry of the church. Preliminary reviews have called this a "good read" as we continue our journey "on mission" as God has laid it before us in His Book: the Bible.
