FOREWORD

As I traveled over the country telling of God's workings through the Kentucky Mountain Holiness Association a number of my friends suggested that I write a book relative to the work.

I have endeavored, therefore, in this volume to give a rather complete history of our interdenominational work of faith in the Mountains of Eastern Kentucky.

The material has been taken from my diary and from my own remembrance of the various happenings and events.

Nothing can be more helpful to the faith of God's children than the evidence of His faithfulness in demonstrating His truth and power in the many answers to prayer found in this book.

No greater satisfaction could come to the author than to know that the true incidents and remarkable answers to prayer recorded here have blest and helped those who read this book.

I am greatly indebted to dear Mr. and Mrs. C. Kildow Lovejoy for giving me a room in their lovely hotel, "The Ritz," in Paducah, Kentucky, where I could rest and write. The Lord bless them good.

The prayers of the pastors, students, and teachers in our Kentucky Mountain Holiness Association in my behalf greatly helped as I wrote. I felt their lift in a remarkable way over the stretch of four hundred and twenty-five miles across the State of Kentucky from Lawson, Breathitt County, to Paducah.
