Publisher Description:
REMEMBER ALSO THIS OTHER YOUNG MAN FROM THE BIBLEHe was the point's man of a well known Prophet. He was not just what today we call a personal assistant to the Prophet, but an apprentice, heir apparent and sole partner. He was the keeper and manager of all that came the way of the much celebrated Prophet. The fame of the prophet was global. People came from far and near to see him and with many being satisfied, they came with immeasurable wealth to appreciate the God of the Prophet for all the answers to their questions. All gifts to the ministry were that of this young man do as he pleased. The Prophet was too far gone in age to care for two meals a day and had little or nothing to do with material wealth. One day a General of the Syrian army came to pray and seek healing via the ministry of the Prophet. The visitor came laden with great gifts in anticipation of his healing.Of course, General recovered from his leprosy and presented his gift to the Prophet. In the wisdom of the Prophet, the gift should be returned to the General. He gave his order accordingly. But the young man thought otherwise. The young man whose name is Ghazi was caught with the gifts meant to be returned, long after the donor had left.LET ME GIVE YOU A THIRD EXAMPLE - YET ANOTHER YOUNG MAN.This one's name is Lot. He was living with his father who was struggling in raising him up. They lived from hand to mouth. One day, one of his uncles decided to migrate. That uncle approached the father of Lot and offered to take the young man away. The father wanted to know where to. The uncle promised that wherever he was, there would the nephew be. He promised to teach the young man his trade. His request was granted. They travelled far and settled. With time, they prospered beyond measure. Lot had a lot to eat and drink. Not only that, he became master to several servants who joined his uncle's workforce over time. As his uncle prospered, he too did because his uncle also paid him a wage like the others. Soon he had some cattle of his own.One would have thought that he would have been happy but he was not. He had this over bearing feeling that if he separated from his uncle, his lot would be better. So one day, he forced his uncle to grant him the right to leave with his own share of the cattle. Not minding his age and inferior position in the partnership, he divided the land and chose before his uncle. He took over the area he considered lush and gave the other to his uncle. It never occurred to him that the senior partner ought to have had the first choice He left to a twin city called Sodom and Gomorrah Not quite long, bandits came and carried he and all that belonged to him away. After he recovered from that disaster, via the unsolicited help of his uncle, the city and all his properties were burnt down by a rain of fire and divine chemicals. He even lost his dearly beloved wife in the great inferno.Through these three stories runs a common thread: the young men were not contented with what God had given them. They were inordinately ambitious. They wanted more. They could not hold their peace until they made their fatal moves. They ran ahead of God.Why?
