Valente, D.M.D. B.S., M.D., a first-generation Italian American. I was born on September 2, 1934 in Milford, Massachusetts, 30 miles south west of Boston. I am the youngest of five sons born to immigrant parents. In order to truly understand me, one must read the entire book before judging the measure of who I am. I grew up in a very modest environment, under difficult conditions. My story may not be very different from that of millions of immigrants or first-generation descendants. They had hopes and dreams that life in America would be easier, opportunities more abundant and prosperity just around the corner. I am the product of that culture. |
