Contributor Bio(s): Jensen, Britta: - Britta Jensen was born in the U.S. to a professional pianist and naval officer. She grew up in Yokosuka, Japan and has spent twenty-two years overseas in Japan, South Korea, and Germany. She worked for the past decade on a NATO training base where she taught English literature and composition to the sound of artillery rounds and machine guns. She enjoys learning languages and is conversational in Japanese, Spanish, and German. Occasionally, she is known to do impressions of her students that keep classes lively. She regularly wears unmatched socks, much to the chagrin of her colleagues. She recently moved to Austin, Texas from Germany. She and her two cats are adjusting to the pleasant swelter on this side of the planet.Brandt, Alexandra: - Alexandra Brandt spent most of her childhood dressing up in fairy wings and parading in front of the mirror telling stories to herself. Not much has changed -- she still loves a good costume, and tells herself stories every day. Her stories appear in Fiction River and other anthologies. "We, the Ocean," her story in Fiction River No Humans Allowed (Vol. 22) was described as "inventive, heartbreaking, and wholly original" by Hugo award-winning writer and editor Kristine Kathryn Rusch.
