Publisher Description:

This publication is a pioneering work in the contemporary study of stylistics, reminding the reader of the literary elegance and beauty of the speeches of Yahweh in the Abrahamic narratives. It studies the attribution, aesthetics and representations of these divine speeches. The author employs a synchronic reading of the Abrahamic cycle, highlighting the use of various literary devices found within the divine speeches. Through this engagement it becomes clear that the high concentration of distinctive literary features found in the speeches of Yahweh are deliberately denied and glaringly absent from other characters within the Abrahamic narratives. More so, it highlights the ideological significance these decorated speeches of Yahweh had for the original audience of the narrator.
