Publisher Description: We asked our more than thirty contributors to choose their favorite Psalm and to explain how that Psalm (or part of it) had become meaningful or ministered to them at a particular point in their lives. Our goal was to create for you a one-a-day, thirty-day diet of God-inspired help-full and hope-filled passages of Scripture that would feed your soul and make it sing. Be prepared for a blitzkrieg of truth, brought to your soul on the wings of story. Like nuggets of gold in settings of silver, or personalized wisdom-filled full-course meals, you'll find something for your day, every day - and perhaps something you'll want to share with others. These stories are true, and aimed at putting you in touch with the One who inspired the psalms, which we love because in them we find ourselves. As one of our contributors puts it, "The Psalms keep it real. There is no insider hyper-spiritualized language but rather raw and naked humanity in conversation with our Creator. Praise, complaint, anger, and contemplation mix together to voice that complicated and confusing range of emotions we experience as we try to sort out our lives." |
