Contributor Bio(s): Doig, Dawn: - Author Dawn Doig, M.Sc., M.Ed, Aud(C), is the author of several books. Go Away, Shawn! Is her most recent release. Other works include; And So, Ahmed Hears, a children's picture book which was originally published by Widex Canada as a humanitarian project in order to improve public awareness of childhood hearing loss. It is now available through Pen It! Publications, LLC. After a 23 year career as a certified Canadian audiologist working in four different countries, Dawn made a career change into teaching four years ago and is currently employed as a primary English as an additional language (EAL) teacher in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Dawn is also the self-published other of What a Bath, a picture book that was written and illustrated for her young son. Additionally, she self-published a baking cookbook, Just Frickin' Bake It, in Saudi Arabia in 2013. The majority of the cookbooks were left in Saudi Arabia and the proceeds of the sales will go to the Terry Fox Foundation for cancer research. Dawn has been happily married for 30 years and has raised two children. She currently resides in Mongolia with her hubby and two very rambunctious but adoring female kitties. She gets her inspiration for her children's books from her family, the children she has had the pleasure of working with, and her feline friends. Baking is a favorite, stress-relieving pastime. She loves to travel and recent escapades have included zip-lining through the rainforest in Thailand, hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, and mountain-biking down Death Road in Bolivia.
