| Publisher Description: English summary: Collections of biblical texts related to the study of the Old Coptic Church in Egypt have appeared for years in the scholarly series Biblia Coptica. The internationally renowned Coptologist Karlheinz Schussler was, until his tragic death in 2013, the series editor. Now, scholars building on his work have published Biblia Coptica 2.2, which is dedicated to the Old Testament. Numerous manuscript pages, torn from the codices, are preserved in various museum and libraries. The goal of this volume is to reconstruct the original composition and the scope of different codices to the greatest extent possible and, in so doing, to re-correlate individual pages and fragments that shared a common origin in once-complete manuscripts. Each manuscript is extensively described with detailed information. The provenances of the individual components of the collection are also provided with a scholarly description and enhanced with a concordance of their current status, a register of biblical passages, and a table with examples of handwriting and scripts. The complete description of the Sahidic Old and New Testaments is of critical importance for understanding biblical theology and exegesis as well as for the history of the Christian churches and the development of the biblical canon. German description: Seit vielen Jahren erscheinen in der Reihe Biblia Coptica systematische Zusammenstellungen von Bibeltexten zum Alten und Neuen Testament aus dem Bereich der alten koptischen Kirche Agyptens. Bis zu seinem tragischen Unfalltod im Jahr 2013 wurden sie von Karlheinz Schussler herausgegeben. Aus seinem Nachlass ist nun der dem Alten Testament gewidmete Band Biblia Coptica 2,2 erschienen. Zahlreiche seinerzeit aus den Codices gerissene Handschriftenblatter werden heute in verschiedenen Museen und Bibliotheken aufbewahrt. Ziel des Bandes ist es deshalb, den ursprunglichen Aufbau und den Umfang verschiedener Codices so weit wie moglich zu rekonstruieren. Die Einzelblatter und Fragmente werden der einstigen Handschrift wieder zugeordnet. Jede Handschrift ist ausfuhrlich beschrieben und mit detaillierten Angaben versehen.
