Annotation: A companion to "The Major Plays of Nikolai Erdman: The Warrant and The Suicide," this collection of Erdman's short plays contains the startling transcript of a discussion of "The Suicide" at the Vakhtangov Theatre in 1930 and the surviving fragments of "The Hypnotist," which would have been Erdman's third full-length play had he not been a victim of Stalin's campaign to control the arts.
