Publisher Description:
The great potential of e-learning is yet to be tapped. Most e-learning systems are designed with the concept that one-shore-fits-all. That is, the same set of learning materials are presented to all learners. This is termed as the static learning model. The learning theories clearly state that each individual learn differently. Learners have different styles of learning, different pace of learning, and different preferences. With technology, it is possible to present different learning materials to different learners based on the competency level. This is termed as adaptive learning model. This book will highlight the adaptive learning model that is able to deliver content based on the learner's competency level. It will also outline and highlight the experiments conducted. The adaptive e-learning models operate within an e-learning environment which is supported by an array of technologies. Applying the systems approach concept, it is important that a conducive e-learning environment is defined first prior to testing the adaptive models.
