Publisher Description: Samuel Johnson was born into a semi-English family. His mother Anna grew up in an Amish community but left to marry an English boy named Lloyd Johnson. When the couple divorces, Anna takes her four daughters and one son, Samuel, back to her family's Amish farm. Samuel must adjust to a new life without his favorite game of baseball. He finds it hard to give up even though he becomes quite comfortable with the Amish culture. When a baseball opportunity appears Samuel pushes the envelop with his Amish beliefs. Does he take the chance to play the game he loves or does he stay on the family farm working the fields he loves just as much? |
