Publisher Description:
Innovative and fresh, 20/20 Delirium is written by a Second City Gen Z writer for the new age. It's the first commercially published book of its kind to include gender neutral comedy blackouts as well as sketches. Featuring 54 comedic pieces (20 sketches and 20 blackouts with alternative versions and endings) that have been previously workshopped in drama programs in the Midwest, 20/20 Delirium can be used for in-class acting exercises or for the length of three different one-hour performances. The scenes encompass different styles of comedy, ranging from Vaudeville and Slapstick to Upper-brow Deadpan and Eccentric Character/SNL-style. The sketches vary in running time from 5-15 minutes and have a high hit rate of 10-15 jokes per minute with minimal set design requirements, ranging between 2-20 actors per scene, appropriate for ages 15+. The blackouts are 30 second scenes with one punchline, no costumes required, minimal props and appropriate for ages 11+. There are 15 blackouts and five 3-in-1 jokes (the same joke told three different ways, three different times and can be spread throughout a performance for audience's pleasure).
