Contributor Bio(s): Cavallo, Francesca: - Elena Favilli is a writer and media entrepreneur. She has worked for Colors magazine, McSweeney's, RAI, Il Post, and La Repubblica, and has managed digital newsrooms on both sides of the Atlantic. She holds a masters degree in semiotics from the University of Bologna (Italy) and she studied digital journalism at U.C. Berkeley. In 2011, she created the first iPad magazine for children, Timbuktu magazine. She is the founder and CEO of Timbuktu Labs. Francesca Cavallo was born in Taranto (Southern Italy) in 1983. She grew up in Italy, graduated with high honors at the University of Milan and got an MFA at the Academy of Dramatic Art "Paolo Grassi" in stage directing. She founded her own theater company and toured Italy, Germany and Switzerland with her award-winning plays. |
