Publisher Description:
Children's Coloring History is a fact-filled coloring book which features 18 African-American women who made various contributions to America and the rest of the world. Many of these women have gone unnoticed in the history books and their contributions needs to be told. Their courage, determination, work and their passion of helping others can be used as a model for current and future generations. Although the coloring book is geared towards young children, all ages can benefit and is a good learning tool for everyone.

Contributor Bio(s): Matin, Sadiq Al: - Sadiq Al-Amin Matin formerly Wilbert Dale Russ was born in 1957 in Houston, Texas. My parents, Mr. Walter Russ Sr. and Mrs. Eula M. Russ moved to San Bernardino, CA when I was two years old. I am the fifth of seven children (6 boys and one girl). Also, I am the father of four children (2 boys and 2 girls) and the grandfather of three. My grandmother, Metter Goodspeed was born free in 1884 and died November, 1988 at the ripe age of 104 years old. She was a midwife who delivered many babies in her lifetime. My mother, who was a strong Black woman had a strong impact on my life. While attending school, I come to realize that the curriculum only spoke of a couple African-American women who contributed to the growth and development of our society. This lack of information led me to want to know about the History of Black women around the Globe who was being left out of our school curriculum. It soon come to me about the importance of writing a Children's Coloring History book. To share with the youth as well as adults of our Rich Lineage.
