The women inform him, test his abilities, educate and train him to fulfill his destiny, which is to return balance to a world run amok with evil strong-men and demon servants. Aficionados of urban fantasy want magical practitioners who don't exhaust their power rings or drop their wands at crucial moments. Why can't we have strong witches and wizards on the good side who have smokin' hot power when they need it? We readers of urban fantasy deserve heroes that kick ass with cool weapons.
