Publisher Description:
Zion Hill is the collective reflections of two African -American men, Marvin Kingston Williams and Henry-Ray "Jack" Jackson, who grew up in the traditional African -American church. They are childhood friends who grow up in Mississippi during the 1960's and 1970's. After leaving Mississippi, each man comes into his own sense of self worth on his own journey. Jack, and eventually Marvin, finally find that his redemption, hopes, and dreams, respectively, are actualized through the faith first nurtured by the institution of the church that they originally shunned. Although these prodigal sons make their way through very different, often tortured routes, they discover that they can attain satisfaction and peace in their lives and loves.
