Publisher Description: Trials and Triumphs is an insight of my life in the streets in the form of poetry. Street Poetry I like to call it. Embracing my struggles through the trials set before me played a major part in the acceptance of my blessings which i consider my greatest triumph. At some point in everyone's lives there are phases to go through where the battle may seem almost impossible. I am living proof that anything is possible These words form with more than imagination as living testimony to fighting beyond all odds. To me, the lotus flower symbolizes my trials and triumphs, a flower that struggles through the mud and filth to emerge beautiful and whole. The lotus flower stands for something that is far from "dime a dozen, Anybody who has ever observed a lotus flower emerging from a murky pond cannot fail to see the beauty of this exquisite plant. The flower always looks so clean and pure against the background of the dirty pond. Thus the lotus is admired as dream. A dream that only came attainable to me while within the thick concrete walls of the state prison. |
